My 10 Best

(In no particular order)

Conversations With God Book 1

This is the book that has impacted me most, and the one that I have gifted more times in my life. Apart from loving the way it is written, as a dialogue between the author and God, I loved its simplicity and marvelled at some of the incredible truths. I received life-changing lessons from this book: that feelings are the language of the soul, and if we learn to pay attention to them we always know which way we should go; that God put us on this earth to experience on His behalf all the beauty and joys available, and so we almost have a moral duty to open up and embrace life; that the right prayer is not one of supplication, but of gratitude.

The Four Agreements

A very clear, simple and direct book, teaching me two of the things that have saved me so much sorrow: never take anything personally, and don’t make assumptions. The author shares four pillars to live at our best, and these two alone completely changed my attitude towards people and their judgements, freeing me from so much fear. The other two pillars are always giving your best, which sometimes can be a 20% of your usual capacity, and be impeccable with your word. This book is basically a straight to the point guide for a better spiritual and emotional life.

The Five Love Languages

Another brief, easy to understand book which taught me how people show love differently: whether through words of affirmations, quality time spent together, acts of services done for the partner, gifts or touch. It offers such a simple framework to ignite new life in those relationships where people don’t feel particularly loved, and where the truth may be that they are simply speaking a different love language. It also offers many examples of how to start speaking other languages in order to make our dear ones feel loved.

A New Earth

I found this book way easier to understand than The Power of Now by the same author. Or, maybe, I simply read it further along my spiritual journey and had become more acquainted with the terminology and concepts. It is a very dense book and it’s impossible to sum up all its teachings, but I’ll say that it was an incredible eye-opener on what the ego is, how it works, and what hold it has on us. It also reminded me how abundance is everywhere in our life, and how being fully present in our being and in the moment is key to living a better life.

Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul

I love story telling, especially when it contains pills of wisdom and love that can land on the readers’ hearts. This book is a collection of true stories written by women all over the world who share part of their life with compassion, openness and wisdom. It really warmed my heart to read over and over how powerful strangers’ kindness can be, and how timely it often is. It left me with the reinforced belief that there is so much good in the world, which however makes less noise because more attention is generally paid to the bad. Also, that we are all so interconnected, through countries and generations. Finally, how important it is to nurture our own soul in order to be able to take better care of others, and how powerful and inspirational sharing one’s story can be.

The Secret

This was the first spiritual book I read, introducing the Law of Attraction and how it can help achieve what we desire in every aspect of our life. By bringing together many authors who share their contribution to this theme, it filled me with excitement at the idea that everything is available, if we know how to align our vibrations to it, focusing on what we desire, rather than on the lack of it.

Ask and It is Given

The Law of Attraction is one of my favourite topics, especially after becoming aware of how abundant the world really is, and learning through other teachers that thoughts do become things. First of all, I love the whole idea of the book, the content of which is presented by Abraham, a Non Physical Flow of Consciousness channelled through Esther Hicks and activated by the questions her husband Jerry would come up with. It’s very accessible, organised in small chapters that bring the message home clearly: the Universe is always ready to meet our requests. It clearly outlines the three steps to getting what we want: asking for it, which is up to us, then the answer is given, which is up to the Universe, and then we have to allow the answer to be received. We have to align vibrationally with that which we desire, and our emotions become our guide in understanding whether we are moving in the right direction or if we are instead moving away from it. The book also explains clearly the more common mistakes we do in the manifestation process: we may be focusing our thoughts on the absence of what we want, rather than on its presence and the joy we’d derive from it, and we may have unconsciously put up obstacles that don’t allow the reception of the Universe’s answer.

The Untethered Soul

A great book, intense and loaded with teachings. It taught me how to become an observer of the incessant voice within, which is constantly talking as a way to release energy, narrating the world to make us feel more comfortable with it, always having something to say, though generally meaningless. It unveils our true nature as the experiencer, who is aware of being conscious, and explains in detail how we have a phenomenal amount of energy available to us all the time, but the problem is that we tend to close our energy centres, our chakras, in order to protect ourselves, based on past experiences. I loved it how it explains to us what stored energy patterns are, why closing our energy centres cuts us off from our source, and what to do in order to always keep our heart open. In general, it left me with the recommendation of not fighting with creation and rather become willing to let whatever happens make it through us, without opposing any resistance. A very clear guide on how to move closer to our spiritual beingness, where the events that happen in the moment belong to the moment and should not be carried to the next one.

Pussy – A Reclamation

For the past year I’ve been receiving coaching on how to move more into my feminine energy, and this is one of the books that I was suggested to read, and for a good reason. It’s been the first book I’ve read on the theme of sexuality and the empowerment that comes from connecting deeply with our sexual nature. It invites the readers to explore and reclaim the power of female sexuality, showing how it can be used to create a more balanced and harmonious world. As someone who has never fully felt in her body, this book offers insights into the importance of self-love, the power of pleasure, and the need to embrace our femininity. I also enjoyed the practical advice it offers on how to reclaim our sexual power and use it to enjoy a more fulfilling life. It was definitely an eye-opener for me and has led me to dive deeper into one of the greatest gifts we as women have, and from which for too long and in many ways we have been disconnected.

The Power of Letting Go

What I love about this book is that it can work as a first introduction and quite comprehensive guide in the world of self-development. It’s like a carousel of tools that can help any individual in living better and fulfilling their potential. Without going necessarily deep, it presents so many concepts, truths and exercises that prove how everything does depend on the mind: from how our focus shapes our reality, to the importance of staying in the moment, where there is no fear, to how, if you can observe it, then it’s not you. It covers how to let go of attachments, that are based on fear and our lack of belief in abundance, how to stop judging, given that it’s a source of suffering, and it touches on the law of attraction. In short, I would recommend it to whoever is taking their first step in the world of growth, because it offers a wide variety of topics all presented with a very simple language.
