Esoteric Healing; Channeled Teachings of the Tibetan in the works of Alice Bailey
I still remember sitting on the South downs of England, reading David Tansley’s fascinating book on Radionics and the Subtle Anatomy of Man when he mentioned Alice Bailey and this book. Even though I was brought up with homeopathy, healing and mediumship, and knew about the aura, I’d never delved into the energy centers or chakras, found throughout our body. With this book, my whole life changed, basing my first book on the ‘message of disease through the chakras’ and seeing the chakras as specific multidimensional doorways into the soul. I love that the Tibetan says: “I’m giving you the simple version as you won’t understand the complete picture yet.” That just encourages me to open my mind to greater discoveries.
Autobiography of a Yogi
A dear friend, now in her 90s, introduced me to this book, having met this humble man in a garden in Southern California near where she lived. I loved reading about Yogananda’s own life story, the people he met and the teachings he received, especially from Babaji. I was fascinated by the mysterious abilities and philosophies of Indian masters that were almost forgotten, before such teachers came into our lives. The book reminds me that behind the modern trappings of most religions, is a common theme of unity, harmony and love, when we align to the Universal laws and work with the spirit world in all things.
To Hear the Angels Sing
As with many of the books on this list, this book reflects a turning point in my life, written by one of the founders of the Findhorn Foundation. I’ve always had a connection to the Nature kingdoms, pestering my family to visit sacred sites and stone circles from childhood. I thought everyone could see energies and talk to rocks and trees, although while focusing on a career in medicine, I learnt to keep these insights to myself. My first visit to Findhorn in the mid-80s blew those cobwebs away, as I immersed myself in the wisdom of the devas, elementals and fairies from psychic communications with intuitive experts, such as Dorothy Maclean. During another visit to Findhorn, I was inspired to leave the safety of a general practice in the UK, to explore holistic medicine and our connection to this living world known as Gaia.
The Holographic Universe
Like David Tansley, this is another emissary author who came to share great wisdom and then left, Michael dying of leukemia a year after this book was published. Standing in a book store in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii, in 1992, this book seemed to leap off the shelf. I spent the next week of my vacation devouring the wisdom and deep insights into quantum physics, wormholes, the holographic universe and how energy medicine works. It felt as if I was not learning something new but remembering what I already knew back in the recesses of my mind.
Heaven’s Mirror
Graham is one of my heroes, continuing to be curious, exploring myths and visiting sacred sites with his wife Santha, despite much opposition to the fact that he is attempting to push back history so that we can remember our true ancestry. Often described as a pseudoscientist, he has done more for archaelogy and anthropology than any funded research. As a traveler myself, I love how he synthesizes his experiences together from his worldwide research. A humble man determined to share his truth, he’s an inspiration to all, reminding us to have an open mind yet never compromising our inner knowing.
The Magdalen Manuscript
It’s clear as I write my list, I’m inspired by authors who are humble and yet committed to being messengers or channelers of information. I traveled with Tom and Judi to the South of France, soon after this book was published, visiting many sites said to be frequented by Mary Magdalene. This book and the trip awoke my own divine feminine as well as knowledge of the powers that have been hidden from us until now. Tom tells how reluctant he was to be a channel, but Mary Magdalene insisted, and hence this amazing book is an exact recital of Mary’s story, including her own mission, love for Yeshua, and the rituals she practiced to raise the serpentine kundalini energy to practice magic. This is a must for anyone wanting to embody their divine feminine.
The Only Planet of Choice
This book, compiled over years of communication between the sitters and what are known as the Council of Nine, offers insights into the unique gift given to humanity, the gift of creative free will and choice, if only we would use it! What impressed me most about this book, are the glimpses into the multidimensional levels of consciousness, expressions of which are being played out throughout the universe. The book covers vast areas of our history as well as speaking of the future, information that Gene Roddenberry, who joined the group at one stage, used in writing the script for Star Trek.
The Emerald Tablet: Alchemy for Personal Transformation
This book speaks to my inner alchemist, which, as with most of us, is attempting to turn base ignorance into the gold of enlightenment. Whether working with astrology, homeopathy or health care, I’ve always taken a psychological approach, appreciating that the mind is the intermediary between the spiritual and physical worlds. When I first read this book and especially the history of this ancient tablet of wisdom, I knew that its message described the act of creation for all mankind. I’ve used the teachings from this book to create seminars encouraging a deeper understanding of how the elements—earth, air, fire and water—are the essential ingredients for spiritual enlightenment.
Shards of a Shattered Mirror
I had to add Darryl Anka’s book to the list as a sign of respect for the amazing wisdom that comes through him in the form of Bashar, a physical E.T, a friend from the future who has spoken for the past 37 years through Darryl. The book covers the stages of our development to loosen our hold on the physical world and enter more fully into our light body. Over the years I’ve listened to many of Bashar’s teachings, often going back several times to understand the depth of information he’s imparting in just a few words. Hearing about ETs and Star people is very familiar to me and I believe that in years to come, his words will enable us to accept and integrate our true origins.
